If you’re reading this, there is a 99% chance you are using X poorly.
But it’s not your fault. X does a terrible job at showing people how to use their platform properly. Once you start to use X with intention, you can begin to target your ideal clients and turn them into paying clients using a method called “Social Selling.”
Just take a look at Katie’s experience with Social Selling:

Let’s dive into how to use X correctly to land your next client.
The average ghostwriter using X to find and land their next client makes 2 big mistakes that keep them from interreacting with their perfect client:
There’s a reason your X feed is a mess.
Over the last few years, X defaulted from showing tweets chronologically to showing “Top Tweets” (the “top” distinction determined by “algorithms”) in the “For You” feed.
This change meant you were no longer guaranteed to see the tweets of someone you followed (because the algorithm may decide their tweets aren’t “Top Tweet” worthy).
On top of that, the “For You” feed mixes in:
X does this because it makes doomscrolling easier. It prioritizes a post as a “Top Tweet” if it keeps a user on its platform for longer. But that just distracts you from finding ghostwriting clients. If you’re using X correctly, you’re on there to network with people in the industry you write for, not spend hours mindlessly scrolling.
And as a ghostwriter looking for clients, avoiding being a “consumer” is your number one priority.
Which brings us to the second mistake.
